In the short term (next 6 months,) I am looking to make engaging and entertaining “talking head” videos on the subjects about which I am passionate and for which I know there is an appetite. My interests include philosophy, politics, economics, foreign affairs, media, film, television, books, personal development, relationships, and more. My goal is to combine substantive content with entertainment, and I would like to get to a place where I am releasing 1-2 videos per week as soon as possible. In the medium term (next 18 months,) I intend to diversify my content to include conversations/interviews with fascinating characters in my life as well as footage and commentary from my personal experiences (or those in my immediate circle of family and friends.) I hope to have a recurring cast of contributors that can develop a relationship with my audiences across all major social media platforms. In the long term (next 3 years,) I intend to develop the overall brand to include various different sub-channels or recurring shows that play across multiple adjacent niches for which I can identify top talent (ie sports commentary, daily journalism, etc.) Additionally, I intend to branch out into commercialization across sponsorships, merchandise, paid services, and more. I have only edited one video and know that my core competencies lie in (1) entrepreneurship/business building/management, and (2) idea generation, research, writing, and on-screen delivery. Therefore, I am looking for a video editor who is eager to help build a media business by editing my videos (beginning with YouTube.) In terms of style, I am open to experimentation, but can say I quite like the simplicity and story-supportive editing of Ali Abdaal and Ben Shapiro, as well as the clever film/TV clips sometimes inserted into Instagram videos for comedic emphasis.
