About the role
Morrison Water Services is recruiting for a Site Manager to work on our Anglian Water contract in Colchester. As the Site Manager, you will be part of our Construction Team. This role involves the management of projects from inception to completion.
The role will be site-based, requiring regular communication with other members of the delivery team based in our local office. Working under the Construction Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Supervisors, delivery teams, and sub-contractors on site.
The role will require the effective utilisation of time and resources to meet budgets and delivery programmes. As Site Manager, you will be expected to carry out the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, quality, and performance standards, ensuring all work meets required water industry regulations and AW approved standards.
You will be accountable for SHEQ performance of Projects, including undertaking and recording findings of periodic SHEQ visits. Act as an ambassador for the company by supporting, promoting, and implementing all company and Business Unit initiatives.
Be responsible for communicating and recording all Corporate, SHEQ, and Business Unit briefings. All briefings/inductions are recorded on relevant forms and retained for reference. Appropriate welfare is available for use and well maintained throughout the construction phase. You will ensure all site-based personnel hold relevant qualifications and training to carry out their duties.
You will be accountable for the timely completion of multiple concurrent projects, safely and within budget. Attend internal and external review and progress meetings. Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installation, and construction teams. Monitor SHEA, legislative, and programme performance of sub-contractors as per your own team.
You will be responsible for all Health and Safety issues on site, which includes the completion of paperwork, including weekly safety and environmental inspections, toolbox talks, site-specific risk assessments, and method statements. Ensure Personal H&S and MTRA are completed and valid. Ensure near misses are recorded through good catch. Carry out ad hoc risk assessments as necessary.
Minimum Requirements
* Knowledge and experience in the water industry
* Certificate in Site Safety Management (or attended 5-day course) and CSCS card
* Experience in Civil, M&E/construction industry
* Effective management of sub-contractors and ability to influence client judgement
* Basic Management training, skills & experience, with a good understanding of legislative and corporate SHEQ / Industry / Legal requirements
* Comprehensive IT abilities including MS Suite, alongside good Project and programme management skills
* Good communicator, able to communicate detailed data to a non-data literate audience and pass on skills
