About the role:
Working within the Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management within multiple work streams as part of a business and change programme, ensuring delivery to time, quality, and cost objectives. The Project Manager will be responsible for the sizing, control, and implementation of small, medium, and large project requests and will work closely with the key business stakeholders to plan and deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Manage the overall planning, control, status reporting, stability, and project delivery of large-scale transformational and complex projects.
* Develop detailed project plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports to maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
* Successfully execute business change projects to approved budgets, schedules, and scope.
* Perform the relevant project management for each stage in the project lifecycle as defined by the published PMO Process.
* Obtain feedback from key stakeholders and provide accurate reporting at critical milestones while managing and influencing stakeholder relationships.
* Establish a Steering Group where a project requires it, to meet regularly with all stakeholders across the business.
* Perform stage gate reviews and quality assurance reviews with relevant business sponsors.
* Review, document, and manage identified risks and issues and escalate accordingly.
* Manage project resources and ensure that the resource plan matches the requirements to deliver the project on time and within budget.
* Report on variances to the project plans, whether they concern Time, Cost, or Quality measures, and seek to resolve, or if resolution cannot be found, seek approval from the project sponsor/project board for the project to proceed with revised, approved metrics.
* Manage issues on the project, driving resolution for a satisfactory outcome and escalating issues as appropriate.
* Manage the scope of the project, documenting scope changes and gaining approval from required parties to ensure benefit realisation.
* Manage project performance against the business cases and implement action plans to ensure benefit realisation.
* Lead the identification of project risks and implementation of mitigation actions in a timely manner.
* Manage prioritisation of projects and any internal or external dependencies.
* Manage project progress to all stakeholders in accordance with a well-structured communications plan, ensuring all communication is tailored to stakeholder needs.
* Deliver best practice project documentation, completed to quality standards, kept up to date, available throughout the project, and maintained in the project database.
* Provide project management support to the preparation of internal business case preparation (as required).
* Implement previous lessons learned output and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Project Management certification e.g. IPMA Level C, PMI PMP, Prince 2 Practitioner (desirable).
* Change Management methodology/experience (desirable).
* More than 5 years experience in Project Management (essential).
