Role Summary: Capital Research Global Investors (CRGI) is seeking to add an Investment Analyst into our team in London, to expand Capital Group’s European Small and Mid Cap capabilities. CRGI one of three equity investment divisions within Capital Group. As an analyst, you will be responsible for the research, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of financial and market information upon which investment decisions are made. At Capital Group all of our Investment Analysts manage assets within their first year in areas of high conviction in the market. A research portfolio will be allocated to you where you will have the opportunity to bring your financial convictions to life. You will work in an environment that encourages entrepreneurship and creativity to develop your own investment style. As an analyst you will work alongside the industry’s most respected investment professionals and have access to senior management at a diverse set of companies. Key relationships: This role will report to Shlok Melwani (CRGI Research Director), who is based in London. Other key relationships will include: portfolio managers and equity analysts within CRGI, sector analysts within other divisions of Capital Group, notably Capital World Investors and Capital International Investors. Primary responsibilities include: · Conduct financial analysis of small and mid cap companies across Europe · Analyse economic, financial and industry trends, and proactively communicate these findings with other analysts and portfolio managers · Engage in primary, direct research in specific areas of coverage · Maintain contact with company management teams and industry participants on a regular basis · Produce written reports and regular updates, as needed · Making investment recommendations to portfolio managers · Manage a portfolio of securities drawn from your sector coverage Qualifications: · Highly relevant and sector specific experience · Superior research skills and the drive to develop and share investment insight from multiple angles · Understanding of equity markets with a demonstrated track record of success · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Ability to work proactively and creatively in a global team environment, and with a range of internal stakeholders · Comfortable and familiar with presenting research in a variety of different ways, for example through thematic reports, weekly briefings and through oral presentation · MBA and/or CFA preferred, not required In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
