Technical Support Engineer - Lewes

Our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a motivated and skilled Technical Support Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in our client's success. Based out of their Lewes office, you will have the opportunity to work on various customer sites across the UK, conducting installations, repairs, and surveys. When you're not on-site, you will be providing exceptional technical support to our client's customers via email, phone, and Teams. Additionally, you will be involved in configuring equipment, preparing customer media, and supporting internal departments.
Salary: £30,000-£40,000 per annum.
Hours: 7:00-15:30 or 07:30-16:00, Monday-Friday
To excel in this role, you must have:
* A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Experience carrying out electrical and electronic device repairs, including soldering, cable repairs, and Molex crimping.
* A full UK driving licence is essential, as well as the ability to travel globally on occasion.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office packages and Windows OS.
While not essential, the following would be highly beneficial:
* Knowledge of serial communication standards and protocols.
* Previous experience with Linux.
* Experience in electrical and electronic system design.
* A background in technical support.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Carrying out installations and retrofits of our client's equipment at customer sites worldwide.
* Providing first-line phone support and conducting site evaluations to suggest improvements for resolving customer issues.
* Delivering training on various software packages and collaborating with other team members to achieve company goals.
