With Instructors with over 30 years of experience working within the Port Industry, you will be trained to a high standard to enable you to operate safely with a comprehensive understanding of your duties and responsibilities We are looking for experienced individuals to help assist with cruises at London International Cruise Terminal, Port of Tilbury, Tilbury, RM18 7NG. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic individuals who can cover as many Cruise dates as possible, with weekday and weekend availability. There may be additional shifts at other sites. This is a great opportunity for those with other responsibilities, due to the flexibility of the role. Job Responsibilities & Duties: Manoeuvring forklifts safely in busy Port environment. Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed. Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas. Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions. Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages. Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures. Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring that safety guidelines are followed at all times. Working within a team to ensure that daily targets are met. Loading and unloading pallets to and from ships. Disposing of waste pallets into skips. General upkeep of the working area and equipment A successful candidate will have: A counterbalance forklift licence, valid or recently expired. Ability to speak and understand written English in a confident manner, to ensure that safety and standards are maintained. Experience working in docking/Port industry is preferred but not essential. Experience working in a warehouse is preferred but not essential. Hours & Pay Casual/Part-Time, Zero Hour Contract Early mornings, daytime, late evenings, occasional nights, weekdays, weekends. £11.70 PAYE monthly. Important Information: It is important to note that HDS has a zero-tolerance policy to drugs misuse. You will be required to undergo a drug test during the recruitment process in order to continue. Please also note you will be subjected to random drug and alcohol tests throughout your employment, as per company policy.
