Job Summary
This role provides short-term and long-term engineering leadership coverage across our portfolio. The Task Force Chief Engineer ensures operational excellence, safety, and building integrity across diverse property types.
Essential Functions and Duties
• Lead and support on-property engineering teams through transitions, openings, and leave coverage
• Oversee day-to-day property maintenance operations, ensuring optimal system performance and guest satisfaction
• Execute preventative maintenance programs and document all services performed
• Support and manage property improvement plans (PIPs) and capital projects
• Coordinate work and compliance with outside contractors and vendors
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
• Uphold brand standards and ensure all local, state, and federal codes are met
• Communicate regularly with hotel leadership and corporate Engineering team
• Mentor and train on-site maintenance staff when applicable
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
• High School diploma or equivalent; trade certification preferred
• 3–5 years of engineering leadership in a hotel environment required
• Experience with Hilton or Marriott brand standards strongly preferred
• Proven ability to lead and adapt in fast-paced environments
• Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to travel frequently and stay on-property as needed for short- or long-term assignments
• Must be comfortable working across full-service, select-service, extended stay, and luxury brands
Work Environment
• Frequent travel throughout the United States
• Varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and reach
• Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor assignments depending on property
