Job Title: Salaried Doctor
Reports To: Practice Manager(s) and Partners
Job Summary:
The post-holder will manage apersonal list and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary caresetting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered andtemporary patients.
Job Responsibilities:
* The post-holder will undertake a variety ofduties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations andqueries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeatprescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in atimely fashion
* Assessing the health care needs of patientswith undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
* Screening patients for disease risk factorsand early signs of illness
* Developing care plans for health inconsultation with patients and in line with current evidence based on practicedisease management protocols
* Providing counselling and health education
* Referring patients to specialists and to other care providers as appropriate
* Recording clear and contemporaneous IT basedconsultation notes to agreed standards
* Collecting data for audit purposes and to meetpractice targets (e.g QoF)
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acuteand repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
* Prescribing in accordance with the practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
* In general the post-holder will be expected toundertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
* Participate in agreed practicedevelopment activities.
* Attend training, practicemeetings and events as appropriate.
* Participate in supervisinglearners within the practice (GP Trainees and F2)
