Reliance Social Housing CIC began in August 2018 offering both social and non-social housing. We currently operate approximately 12,000+ of exempt accommodation units and 15 social housing general needs properties. Unlike most Housing Associations, Reliance uses a lease-based model which brings its own opportunities and challenges.
After an internal promotion we are now looking for a Chief Operating Officer to join the Executive team:
The Role:
Reporting directly to the CEO you will have responsibility for the implementation and achievement of Reliance strategy. You will be responsible for supporting the direction and implementation of its programs and projects and providing leadership towards the achievement of its key performance indicators. You will manage the operation on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). An ideal candidate would be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is able to execute and manage effectively. They should be analytical and possess strong critical thinking and planning skills.
Key elements of the role include but are not limited to:
1. Strategic Planning and Governance
2. Knowledge of Regulatory Standards issued by the Regulator of Social Housing
3. Assists in implementing strategies for operational management and development to meet organisational plans and goals within budgets and timelines.
4. Participates actively in implementing programs that meet organisational goals and objectives.
5. Development and Assets Management Services
6. Housing Management and Tenant Engagement
7. Financial Management of Operational functions
8. Directs and supports the smooth and efficient operation of organisational facilities.
9. Line Management
10. Contributes to developing, installing and controlling procedures to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization and with partners.
11. Regularly and systematically evaluates the results of overall operations and reports these results to the CEO.
12. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the COO will serve on the Board of Directors and relevant sub-committees, actively contributing to strategic discussions and presenting operational reports, performance updates, and key initiatives as required.
13. Provides a strong day-to-day leadership presence, possessing an execution mind-set and a bias toward action.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
1. Experience as an existing COO or in senior leadership role: 3 years minimum experience (Required)
2. Good understanding of housing related finance: 3 years’ experience (Required)
3. Bachelors’ degree or relevant, related experience in non-profit, program management, facilities management, and/or related field
4. Demonstrated project/program management skills, including managing and prioritising multiple tasks
5. Experience in group facilitation and working as teams
6. Experience with office systems, computer literacy, and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams and Outlook
7. Ability to be discrete and confidential with sensitive information
8. Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed
