Senior Project Manager (SPM) - Regulatory Change Delivery We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team on an urgent basis, working within the technology change delivery space. This for our client who are a leading domestic insurance company. This will be on a long term contract, Inside IR35 and based working out of London, once a week onsite, turning to two days in the new year. General Purpose of Role The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will oversee the successful end-to-end delivery of large, complex technology projects and technology workstreams within the business. The role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards, following established project management methodologies and governance. Specific Purpose of Role This role is part of a wider programme to deliver both technical and business process changes within the business. You will manage internal and supplier resources (resource augmentation) using both waterfall and agile methodologies. The role requires strong stakeholder management at senior levels (up to ExCo) and alignment with the strategic direction (North Star) of the business. As the PM, you will run multiple projects, managing all aspects of the end-to-end (E2E) delivery journey, including requirements gathering, solution design, build, testing, and go-live. You will be responsible for coordinating, unblocking, and ensuring all governance requirements are met to deliver change into production. Key Responsibilities - Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple complex technology projects and business change initiatives. - Coordinate the delivery of both technical process and business process changes across various teams. - Handle multiple projects of varying complexities, focusing on the entire E2E customer journey. - Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership (ExCo) and regulatory bodies. - Define and implement project scope, objectives, and business cases. - Manage detailed budgets, including planning, forecasts, and actual vs. planned performance (typically over £1m projects). - Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, and activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions. - Oversee the management of project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests, ensuring quality assurance standards are met. - Manage third-party suppliers, contracts, and SLAs in line with the project requirements. - Deliver and update reports to senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies, particularly for regulatory change initiatives. - Champion data governance, regulatory compliance, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. - Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes. Key Candidate Requirements - Proven experience in managing complex application development and systems integration projects. - Hands-on experience using project management tools such as MSP, Confluence, Jira, Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel). - Strong background in managing large budgets and resource allocation, ideally using portfolio management software like Planview. - Experience in delivering projects within the Financial Services sector, specifically in General Insurance and Claims. - Experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud delivery concepts is a plus. - Solid understanding of Finance Systems and Data concepts. - Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory change projects, including reporting to regulatory bodies. - Strong attention to detail and a proactive "can do" attitude, particularly in challenging timeframes and high-stakes environments. - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, including ELT and regulatory boards. - Experience working in both agile and waterfall methodologies.
