Our client is thelargest garage equipment sales and service company in the UK, offeringa total one-stop-shop solution for all of its’ customers. Following arecent acquisition, they are now looking to recruit an experiencedGeneral Manager to join their team in Plymouth.
The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of theacquired business based in Plymouth. Managing several departmentsincluding service, sales, installation, warehouse, logistics,purchasing and finance. Creating a cohesive working environmentbetween the two companies.
Keyresponsibilities:
* Manage P&L performance,ensuring the business is profitable
* Overseeing alldepartments, ensuring effective communication and productivity betweenthe different departments
* Drive continuous improvementsacross the business, improving both systems and processes.
* Identify strategies to drive continuous improvement andautomation in operational processes and practices
* Ensurecontinuous improvement is an integral part of the culture, whilstsupporting business growth
* Oversee and maintain operationalperformance to ensure it meets regulatory and client expectations andtargets
* Deliver operational and financial results againstassociated plans and budgets whilst making high quality decisions thatnot only advance the business, but enable an increase in margins
* Proactively identify, manage and mitigate existing andemerging operational risks, ensuring operational business controls areeffective and that policies and procedures are clearly defined andadhered to
* Fully adhere to legal and regulatory requirementsand the good conduct of the businesses, maintaining ongoing complianceand upholding reputation
Skillsand qualifications:
* Demonstrable experience atsenior management level in a medium sized business
* Experiencein an engineering or capital equipment business which offers service,maintenance and installations nationwide.
* Demonstrableexperience in developing and implementing operational and businesswide strategies
* Exceptional people leadership experience,with the ability to set a clear vision, collaborate and motivateothers
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skillswith the capability to inspire confidence, motivate and influenceothers
* The energy, enthusiasm and passion for change with theability to motivate and generate excitement, inspire confidence andmake things happen in a collaborative way at different levelsthroughout the organisation
* Experience managing teams whoare office based and field based
You willneed to demonstrate your ability to build and maintain strongstakeholder relationships (both internal and external) and be aconfident, motivational leader with a hands-on approach to management.
