About The Role:
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in the procurement of materials and services for the Transpennine Route Upgrade. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring procurement strategies align with project objectives. This position requires a strong understanding of NEC subcontractor management, as well as the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Managing the procurement of materials and services to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
* Negotiating and managing contracts with NEC subcontractors.
* Working closely with project teams to align procurement strategies with programme requirements.
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities and mitigating supply chain risks.
* Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and industry regulations.
About You:
You will have a proven track record in procurement within the rail or infrastructure sector, with strong commercial awareness and supplier management skills.
Essential requirements:
* Extensive experience working with NEC subcontractors and a strong understanding of NEC contract frameworks.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Knowledge of procurement processes within major infrastructure projects.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
* CIPS qualification (preferred but not essential).
