Employing over 400 people, we are one of the largest brassica suppliers in the UK.
A vacancy has arisen for an accomplished Cost Accountant who can hit the ground running. The role sits within the finance team but works closely with the Operations and Commercial teams at our office in Benington, Boston.
Reporting into the Finance Director, the duties will include:
Cost Analysis & Control:
* Prepare and analyse standard costings for products, ensuring accurate valuation of inventory.
* Build good relationships with the factory team. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
* Perform variance analysis to compare actual costs with budgeted or standard costs and report on significant deviations.
* Monitor cost savings delivered by new equipment vs. CapEx Proposal forms.
* Support the Commercial team with timely provision of actual product costs and profitability.
* Report actual costs by product and monitor the impact of inflation.
Reporting & Budgets:
* Production of P&L for the Service Provision business.
* Establish and update standard costs for reporting and updating the ERP system.
* Review costs from Farming to agree appropriate pool prices.
* Support Accounts Assistant with weekly reporting production, review, and commentary.
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, including departmental budgets for manufacturing and production operations.
* Ad hoc reports, costings, and project work and analysis as required.
The successful candidate will have:
* Excellent numeracy, probing, and analytical skills.
* AAT or CIMA part qualified or recently qualified.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
* Experience creating and using reports to help the business to make better decisions.
* Proficient with using Microsoft Excel.
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Recent food industry experience would be advantageous.
