Job overview
The post holder will be a key member of the Child Health Information Services (CHIS) Team, directly reporting to the CHIS Coordinators and will take part in the day-to-day running of the CHIS service, including generating regular reports and ensuring that CHIS data on the system is accurate and current.
The North Yorkshire and York cohort includes all children aged 0-19 residing in the area, registered with a GP or attending local schools.
The purpose of CHIS and its supporting systems is to ensure each child in England has an accurate active record to support public health interventions such as screening, childhood and adolescent immunisations, as detailed in the NHS Public Health Functions Agreement, and the Healthy Child Programme services.
Main duties of the job
Manage data and statistical information supporting services for children and young people aged 0-19. This includes notifications of new births, children moving in or out of the area, requesting records, and updating the child health system accordingly.
Coordinate with Maternity services to receive initial birth details and NHS numbers, and serve as a central repository and failsafe for the Newborn Blood Spot Screening Programme. Support local delivery of national antenatal, newborn screening, and immunisation programmes.
Assist in gathering information and compiling reports for statutory requirements, ensuring deadlines are met.
Manipulate large data files for bulk uploads onto CHIS SystmOne Unit, such as immunisation data, and generate reports including exception reports.

* NVQ Level 4 in Administration or equivalent.
* ECDL or equivalent IT qualification.
* Experience in data analysis and related software packages (Excel).
