The Role
Following a restructure and a planned retirement, we are recruiting additional capacity into the Planning Strategy Team at principal officer level. You will be involved in a wide range of planning policy matters working collaboratively with colleagues in Bolton as well as across the city region with partners in Greater Manchester Combined Authority. This is an exciting time to join the team; we have recently committed to starting a local plan review and have ambitious regeneration plans for the Borough. You will help to shape the vision and content of Bolton’s Local Plan and be involved in related policy development work, including annual monitoring reports and consultation exercises. You will work proactively with colleagues to help shape the policy environment demonstrating a positive image of the service and the Council.
About You
An experienced planning policy officer with a developed understanding of the range of planning legislation and processes. You will have experience of developing statutory planning policies and plans and of working collaboratively with a range of partners to develop Borough-wide or sub-regional policies and plans. You will be adept at analysing complex technical information and evidence and also have excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
