We are now looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager within our project management team, you will support multiple and complex work assignments, helping to deliver exemplary professional services to our clients. You will grow to be as comfortable working autonomously as within a team, always striving to deliver best-in-class services across various sectors and projects.

You will establish strong, supportive, professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and project teams, contributing to Thomas and Adamson’s strategic business growth.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Planning
1. Contributing to the development of Project Management Plans and establishing project strategies for all stakeholders.
2. Supporting the development of master programmes, identifying milestones and team member responsibilities.
3. Interrogating construction programmes and agreeing on changes or enhancements.
Engaging
1. Liaising with key stakeholders to define project requirements and develop the project brief.
2. Leading project meetings with team members and stakeholders on allocated commissions.
3. Producing project correspondence ensuring clear actions are defined and delivered upon by all team members.
Procuring
1. Contributing to the production and issuance of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and appointment documents.
2. Participating in the preparation of tender documents with the Cost Management department.
3. Assisting with the review of tender returns for technical compliance.
4. Negotiating with contractors to ensure tender costs represent best value.
Managing Risk, Delivering Value
1. Reviewing design packages to ensure compliance with the project brief.
2. Contributing to value engineering and risk review workshops.
3. Tracking risk mitigation activities and value engineering opportunities.
4. Assisting with the assessment of Contractor’s claims for delay events.
Project Administration
1. Assessing and reporting on contractor progress and commercial matters during delivery.
2. Managing the design team to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled.
3. Coordinating responses to technical queries or requests for information.
4. Processing Contract Instructions and ensuring document management protocols are adhered to.
General Duties
1. Reviewing and approving the work of sub-consultants or project team members.
2. Providing professional services as directed by senior staff.
3. Participating in and delivering professional development activities.
4. Mentoring junior staff.
5. Supporting business development objectives.

What do we need from you
1. Education to degree level.
2. 1-4 years of project management experience (ideally in a Consultancy).
3. Working towards Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or equivalent.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Project, and Word.
