We are looking for an Inspector C to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Your Responsibilities:
1. As an Inspector, you will play a key part of our manufacturing quality assurance by performing inspection on various components, subassemblies, and simple manufacturing tooling as required by drawings, specifications, and established procedures.
2. *This position is a union position and will be assigned to one of three shifts. Training for this position will happen during first/daylight shift.
3. Verify machine setups using special or conventional inspection devices.
4. Inspect components and subassemblies either on machines, surface plates, or other predesignated areas using special or conventional inspection devices.
5. Inspect characteristics associated with the weld process and inspect base material using special or conventional inspection equipment.
6. Perform liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle inspection in accordance with applicable internal procedure and customer specifications.
7. Inspect electrical characteristics of mechanism wound coil bobbin assemblies (only).
8. Verify, audit, and review process documentation, parameters, and charts to assure that processing is performed within applicable specification requirements.
9. Inspect simple manufacturing tooling such as cutting tools, assembly fixtures, and machining fixtures.
10. Perform inspections of individual components or subassemblies to verify proper fit up or assembly and/or to provide data for special machining.
11. Utilize computers and computer-aided equipment in the performance of related inspection duties, including documentation review, labor/time reports, digital photography, communications, programs for computer-aided inspection equipment and manipulation of prepared software.
12. Maintain familiarity with quality procedures related to inspection functions and maintain inspection qualifications in accordance with applicable internal procedures and customer specifications to perform the responsibilities and duties of this position description.
13. Take pictures as required of manufacturing processes, product, and product related items.
14. Perform other inspection functions of an equal or less complex nature including duties, inspections, and assignments as referenced in lower inspector position number descriptions.
What You Bring:
1. Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent gained through training and/or experience in mechanical areas.
2. Ability to read blueprints for machined parts and shop mathematics, including basic algebra and trigonometry.
3. Minimum of one year inspection experience at the next lower classified inspection position or equivalent.
4. Completion of four-year machine shop or inspection apprentice program or equivalent or completion of two-year associate degree, certification program, or equivalent in metrology.
5. Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
