The position:
A District Nurse/Advanced Nurse Practitioner Team Leader post has arisen for a suitably qualified, experienced and forward-thinking nurse to provide professional nursing leadership and clinical expertise to our mainland Orkney community nursing team. You will work with highly committed nurses and managers, and be part of leading the redesign and development of community nursing services across Orkney mainland in line with the transforming roles and remobilising service agendas.
The Candidate:
We are looking for a District Nurse/Advanced Nurse Practitioner who can evidence their experience in delivering high quality care, with strong leadership skills to motivate and lead a team. You should be able to demonstrate experience working in a clinical team with management and leadership responsibility at Band 6 level or above. You will be committed to working in collaboration with inter-agency colleagues to provide safe, effective and person-centred care for our patients, families, communities and colleagues. You should possess excellent communication and organisation skills and be able to provide occasional weekend and out of hours cover.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration:
This post will be based at The Balfour. The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week. This post is Permanent. It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is on a Band 7 £48,788 - £56,747 pro rata per annum and as an Orkney resident you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,587 pro rata per year, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
