OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Quality Technologist (Auditor) role is to be the quality point of contact in the refinery. To report and follow up on daily issues to identify deviations and trends as well as participate in site wide actions groups as required.
Key aspects of this role are supporting the Quality Assurance Manager and wider Quality Team, building relationships with the factory teams and embedding Quality within the Thames site. The Quality Technologist will be expected to work closely with personnel from a wide range of functions within T&L Sugars factory facing operation teams and our customers.
The position will be 60% factory based, 40% office based.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To review daily Quality information and attend operation meetings as the quality representative.
2. Complete daily reports with accurate and factual information.
3. Incident management, including quick risk assessment of potential quality and/or food safety issues.
4. Ensure hold log is up to date and mass balances are conducted in a timely manner.
5. To drive improvements in the site's Food Safety and Quality Systems.
6. Active participation in the internal audit program, traceability exercises and GFSI and Third Party audits for the site.
7. Continuous improvement 3/5 and 8 step involvement with site.
8. Complete quality sign offs as required and participate in site trials.
9. Develop and ensure Food Safety work permits are in place for all relevant works and completed appropriately.
10. Conduct site wide GMP audits and Gemba walks as per schedule.
11. Customer relations management including customer queries and or customer audit findings/CAPAs.
WORK EXPERIENCES
Experience in a factory facing quality role.
Exposure to customer interface, either as a supplier to industry or retailers.
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
1. Knowledge of relevant Food Safety and Quality systems and their implementation such as HACCP and Root Cause Analysis.
2. Ability to communicate best practice knowledge at various levels.
3. Proactive and motivated by change.
4. Desirable knowledge of SharePoint, Redzone and/or SAP software.
5. HACCP & Food Safety Qualifications ideally.
