We are currently looking for a Gas Servicing and Repairs Manager to join our successful and dynamic Trade Services Team.
Working within the existing Trade Services team, you will be responsible for the management of a medium size gas team and an established set of contractors completing gas servicing, gas repairs including a call out service within both Domestic and industrial properties within our Housing, Corporate and Operational buildings.
Your next role
As the Gas Servicing and Repairs Manager, we require you to have the following Qualifications and experience;
Qualifications
* Appropriate trade qualification (NVQ)
* Work related to degree level within the gas or building industry
* Gas Safe Registration for both Commercial and Domestic installations
* Or HNC / ONC Heating and Plumbing / Building services Engineering
* Current driving licence
Experience
* Good working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act
* Proven track record of supervising a team within a Gas Servicing and maintenance environment.
* Previous experience of managing/prioritising a varied/demanding workload.
* Previous experience of managing registration to Gas Safe
* Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with Operatives, Sub-contractors and Client Officers
* Knowledge of standing orders and procurement regulations
* IT literate with advanced excel capability (pivots/graphs/formulae etc.)
* Experience in delivering presentations to senior management team.
* Ability to run training in relation to Gas safety to both technical and non-technical staff
As part of your duties you will be asked to review the existing service delivery, with the aim to implement new strategies to ensure that Swindon Borough Council assets are maintained to a high standard within available resources.
You will also be asked to work with both residents, tenants, Councillors and the Health and Safety Executive both face to face and at meetings, reporting findings and delivering presentations in relation to Gas Safety.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act - for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
