Job Advertisement: Senior SHEQ Advisor
Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced SHEQ Advisor to lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals. With the organisation working with Housing Associations and Local Authorities, there is a diverse range of projects that you will oversee the safety of. These can include Energy Efficiency Retrofitting, Internal and External refurbishment and FRA works as well as many more!
Reporting to the SHEQ Director, you will play a key role in shaping and executing strategies that ensure the health, safety, wellbeing, and compliance of the company and its staff. In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with the FRA Manager to oversee the effective implementation of fire risk management processes in line with the Building Safety Act and relevant fire safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and motivate your team to ensure high performance.
Collaborate with the SHEQ Director to develop and implement safety and compliance strategies.
Oversee health and safety, quality control, environmental, and fire risk management across the business.
Work closely with the FRA Manager to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
Assist in resource planning and allocation for effective companywide health and safety management.
Essential Requirements:
Commitment to Equal Opportunities policies and awareness of equality issues.
Strong understanding of the financial impacts of health and safety on business operations.
Thorough knowledge of health, safety, fire, and environmental legislation.
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum), with NEBOSH Diploma level 6 being desirable.
Certified member of IOSH, with Chartered membership being desirable.
Valid driving licence.
Experience in delivering health and safety training.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with people at all levels.
Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Strong delegation and leadership skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess laws, rules, and guidance and their business impact.
Desirable Qualifications:
Level 3 EAT qualification or higher (or equivalent).
CISRS card holder (basic or advanced scaffold inspection).
First Aid at Work certification.
Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
