Construction Manager - Infrastructure, Civil and Build

The project: A state of art life science fit out in Cambridge, with ISO clean rooms and CL3 facilities in the scope. A very fast-paced project, where the quality of the work and the timeline are crucial for the success of the project.

* You will work as part of the construction delivery team, taking direction from the construction lead and project senior leadership team.
* You will build relationships to manage and influence stakeholders, both internally and externally.
* You will build a strong working relationship with your clients and support the construction lead in turning the client's vision into a deliverable onsite plan.
* Responsible for the structure and/or fit out of a specific area or package, including site conditions, programme, quality and safe working standards.
* Liaises with and takes direction from the project package managers, regarding programme and critical path works in the area.
* Leads forecast lookahead meetings for the area or package, working with the package manager.
* Provides detailed planned vs actual data for all works within their area, knowing when to escalate to construction leadership where deviation from the plan is evident.
* Manages close out of their area, understanding all relevant QAQC Plans and ITPs and handover.
* Promotes and drives the business priorities through construction to production, digital & data and responsible business practices.
* Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You'll need to have:
* Experience delivering life science or healthcare projects in UK, good understanding of building regulations and specific LS and HO approvals.
* Proven experience with complex projects.
You'll also have:
* Working towards membership of MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
* Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the sector.
* Construction management expertise.
* Developing commercial and financial acumen.
* Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
* Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
* Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
