Are you an experienced sales professional with a passion for food safety and technology? We are seeking an Account Manager to join our team, focusing on the Food & Beverage sector. In this role, you'll interact with established customers, develop new prospects, and drive the success of our innovative products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
1. Sell the organisation's products/services to both existing customers and new prospects.
2. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers within your territory.
Safety and Compliance:
3. Apply safety instructions, participate in regular training, and use dedicated safety tools.
4. Perform safety assessments, ensure PPE readiness, and report safety observations and incidents.
Market Monitoring and Opportunity Identification:
5. Monitor the market, customers, and competitors to identify risks and opportunities.
6. Map opportunities within the territory and build relationships with key decision makers.
Sales Execution:
7. Execute the commercial plan for the assigned territory.
8. Prepare and present offers, negotiate with customers, and secure new applications and plants.
Customer Retention and Margin Management:
9. Implement action plans to fulfill contract commitments and exceed customer expectations.
10. Manage pricing execution and activities to maintain gross profit margins.
11. Standardise product offerings to align with core range.
Value Delivery and Technical Support:
12. Provide services, training, and consultancy on technical issues to deliver value to customers.
13. Ensure all value actions are reported and achieve TVC and service compliance targets.
Food Safety Promotion:
14. Position and sell our comprehensive Food Safety approach and packages.
15. Support and train customers on digital tools to enhance food safety and operational efficiency.
Innovation and Claims Management:
16. Promote and field test new innovations with customers.
17. Act as the first point of contact for customer claims and address them internally.
Administrative Tasks:
18. Handle internal and external reporting tasks, including expense reporting and activity logs.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Interpersonal Skills:
19. Strong customer orientation, presentation skills, and abstract thinking.
20. Ability to collaborate in a matrix organisation and remain positive and productive in the face of setbacks.
Commercial Acumen:
21. Drive for results with a competitive edge and urgency to win.
22. Self-starter with a solid understanding of business acumen and sales strategy.
Technical Expertise:
23. Over 5 years of experience in technical sales within manufacturing environments, ideally in the F&B processing industry.
24. Knowledge of food technology, equipment tech, and food safety.
25. Proficient in using specific tools such as 3DT CIP and MCI.
Financial Understanding:
26. Basic financial knowledge including pricing, margin structure, and P&L management.
IT Skills:
27. Proficient in Power BI, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and digital apps.
Additional Information:
Education:
28. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology, or related fields.
Travel:
29. Extensive travel within the territory to visit customers (> 80% of the time).
Languages:
30. Fluent in local language with a minimum proficiency of A2 in English (B1 or higher preferred).
