This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly Democratic Services team working in the heart of Nottinghamshire. The team handles the administration of elections and electoral registration as well as coordinating Council meetings, committees and providing advice and support to our 41 councillors. Democratic Services also includes the Mayor’s office which looks after civic engagements for the Mayor of Gedling, the first citizen of the borough. We are looking for a confident and articulate person to join our busy Democratic Services Team on an annualised hours basis to assist in the maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date register of electors by visiting locations across the borough. You will be highly organised, able to work flexibly, customer focused and will possess excellent communication skills. Experience of dealing with the public is essential, with experience of Electoral Registration highly advantageous. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work, including the ability to work outside normal office hours. During peak periods, such as canvass time, you may be required to work significant amounts of overtime.
