The Role:
As a Art/ Design & Technology Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to explore the world of design and technology. Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students
Providing hands-on instruction in a variety of areas, such as product design, engineering, graphics, and textiles
Encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through project-based learning activities
Collaborating with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities that enhance students' understanding of design and technology concepts
Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their development and achievement
Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported to reach their full potential
Requirements as a Art/ DT Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a background in Design & Technology education, preferably in Food technology
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in the field of design and technology and/or Art
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
The ability to create engaging and innovative teaching resources and activities
Experience working with secondary school students and an understanding of the national curriculum requirements for Design & Technology
A commitment to promoting health and safety practices in the design and technology workshop
