Firstly it is to manage, develop, improve and implement the laboratory accreditations to ISO 17025 and ISO 17065. Providing a key point of contact for UKAS audits and ensuring accreditation is maintained on an annual basis. Secondly, to provide day-to-day software support services for all staff by becoming a "super user" of the internal Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. Quality Manager Main Duties: - The management of the laboratory's accreditation to ISO 17025, including internal audits, reporting of monthly quality metrics to Eurofins Group and Senior Management Team, extension to scope requests to UKAS, and assistance of external audits from UKAS and Eurofins global quality group. - The management of accreditation to ISO 17065 as the appointed lead, to oversee the certifications accreditation with the team of evaluators and the Certification Assessment Manager. - Implement Quality Management System (QMS) processes and ensure compliance is upheld with the Quality Manual. - The control of all documents relating to the QMS, including supplementary procedures, laboratory forms, uncertainty of measurement budgets, in-house methods, laboratory books, quality documents, and standard operating procedures. - Merge existing systems with Eurofins systems, tools and applications and update/ produce progress reports as required. - A member of the Quality Management Group (QMG), with preparation of resources for weekly quality meetings. - Planning of quality assurance activities (e.g., proficiency testing schemes, inter-laboratory trials and intra-laboratory trials), review results and subsequent action follow up. - Undertake impartial investigations of opportunities for improvement and customer complaints. - The ability to make unbiased decisions on behalf of the quality team, and present report findings to the QMG. - Oversight of the internal and external calibration status of laboratory equipment working with the Laboratory Manager. - Identify skills gaps through audits and follow up by either training staff or identifying an appropriate resource to train. - Engage staff with the QMS and nurture a positive culture of quality. - Assist staff with technical queries from internal and external stakeholders. Systems Manager Main Duties: - Monitor and review the performance of the internal LIMS and CRM software and action/notify the relevant support team(s) as required, to implement fixes/upgrades. - Manage and filter the IT tickets requested by the laboratory. - Attend and represent the business at monthly meetings with the Eurofins Group developments teams. - Undertake regular reviews/tests of our applications and check that system updates are functioning adequately to be transferred to the live system. Including setting up tests and templates. - Present draft system updates/new releases to both internal and external stakeholders and communicate the feedback. What We Are Looking For: - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of ISO 17025 and ideally have attended an Internal Auditor Course. - Ideally, degree educated in a science related subject and have a good understanding of a testing laboratory and the equipment used. - Proven experience with LIMS and ideally experienced with system installation, configuration, SQL and analysis. - Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form and an aptitude for problem-solving. - Competence in using Microsoft Office software in particular excel and word, knowledge of Power BI would be desirable for reporting metrics. - Demonstrate good time management, whilst maintaining a positive can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment. - Well organised and excellent attention to detail as quality is core in everything we do. - A flexible approach to working additional hours when required.
