Solicitor - Family Department (Private & Public Law Children)

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Family Solicitor to join one of the leading law firms in Cornwall and Devon, due to a significant influx of work. This growing firm is seeking a Solicitor with 2+ years PQE to join their highly regarded Family Department. The role will primarily focus on private and public law children work, with the opportunity to gain experience across the full spectrum of family law services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Main focus on private and public law children matters, including care proceedings, child arrangements, and child protection.
* Manage a diverse caseload, including more complex family law cases, and handle routine casework.
* Advocacy: Represent clients in court and undertake your own advocacy.
* Contribute to business development efforts, supporting initiatives to expand the family law practice and strengthen client relationships.
* Travel as required to attend court hearings and meet with clients or colleagues at other office locations.
What We Are Looking For:
* 2+ years PQE in Family Law, ideally with experience in private law children matters.
* Confidence in undertaking your own advocacy and representing clients in court.
* Proven expertise in both private and public law children matters, with experience managing sensitive, high-pressure cases.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain high standards.
* A collaborative mindset, eager to work alongside a supportive and experienced team.
* Willingness to travel across locations when required.
