Working hours: Full-time 35 hours per week, (Monday - Friday).
Location: This is a field-based/hybrid role, covering the South & East regions. You will have the opportunity to mix working in stores with working from home. At Homebase, we trust you to manage your time effectively, but given the nature of this role, you should expect to visit stores within your division regularly (2/3 days per week dependent on need), as well as occasional visits to our Store Support Center/Head office for team meetings and catch-ups (e.g., 1-2 times per quarter).
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 plus car allowance and bonus earning potential.
The role: The HR Business Partner role will be responsible for providing high quality, objective, and robust business partnering and generalist support to ensure the business attracts, develops, and retains great people, ensuring the culture and values remain at the forefront of all activity.
What will I be doing?
1. Support the business to achieve commercial goals and objectives through the development and delivery of an effective people plan with a regional specific focus.
2. Build a strategic partnership that has significant impact and influence with key senior managers.
3. Provide leadership and coaching to RM’s in relation to all HR-related matters including policy advice, leadership & team development, performance management including performance reviews, recruitment, and engagement.
4. Identify and provide appropriate leadership and coaching to drive business performance to enable line management decision-making and effective line people management capability.
5. Identify the L&D needs and resulting agenda to deliver succession and a talent pipeline that supports the business from a short/mid and long-term perspective, whilst fully utilizing centres of excellence (L&D).
6. Manage risk effectively by ensuring compliance with legislation and policy.
7. Identify trends and future-facing issues and proactively plan accordingly.
8. Support the leadership development of Divisional Business Leaders and Store Managers.
9. Manage complex ER issues in conjunction with the relevant line manager in order to minimize risk.
10. Work with the RM challenging all people-related costs including salary drift.
11. Fully utilize the centres of excellence to enable the business partner to utilize the business partnering model – strategic partner, commercial manager, emergency responder, employee mitigate.
What you will need to be successful:
1. Appropriate people management qualification e.g. DMS, CIPD (Desirable).
2. The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships within HR and the rest of the business.
3. Skilled at effectively challenging and influencing senior managers.
4. Experience of managing significant organizational change.
5. Proven ability to manage and implement projects and strategic change initiatives.
6. Has built a great reputation as a team player.
7. Commercially focused.
8. Ability to manage own time and workload and juggle conflicting priorities.
9. Demonstrate evidence of influencing and coaching skills.
10. Professional approach with a can-do attitude.
