Location: Minimum of 3 days on-site, with flexibility to be based in Croydon or Farnborough.
Salary: £80,000
Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring the security of the organization is effective, efficient, and adaptable to meet governmental, defense, and industry best practices where applicable.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
* Act as a key report to the Security Director and serve as an ambassador for the organization.
* Manage and lead the Security & Vetting Team, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
* Oversee physical security and vetting operations, including compliance, systems management, business continuity, team performance, and engagement.
* Supervise recruitment and retention of Security Representatives and Administrators.
* Integrate security functions across the organization to ensure consistent service delivery.
* Support senior leadership and key stakeholders in providing holistic protective security, including:
* Managing physical security measures via third-party providers.
* Overseeing compliance for classified data hosting and new builds per secure construction standards.
* Advising on security build requirements and standards.
* Supporting client site visits, inspections, and audits.
* Oversee client-related security and vetting requirements.
* Manage the security contract budget in coordination with the Director of Security.
* Implement and maintain effective performance management processes for contracted security services.
* Ensure security policies and procedures remain current, practical, and aligned with mandated standards.
* Identify and address physical security weaknesses or incidents and conduct security audits.
* Develop, author, and update security instructions, policies, and monthly reports.
* Act as a representative for internal and external audit and accreditation processes.
* Promote a culture of security awareness and training across the organization.
* Perform the role of Crypto Custodian/Alternate (with appropriate training).
* Act as Personnel Security Controller as per company policy and guidelines.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
* Extensive experience in security management and managed security contracts, including budget oversight.
* Minimum of 10 years in managerial roles.
* Proven people management, communication, and observational skills.
* Familiarity with emergency service coordination and vetting management.
* Ability to achieve DV clearance.
* Relevant certifications and training in cryptographic services, protective security, and counter-terrorism.
* Knowledge of security auditing, inspections, and risk assessment is desirable.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with NVQ-level security qualifications
