Due to a current site and team expansion in our clients business, they now have an excellent opportunity for a Team Leader / Supervisor to step into a Deputy Engineering Manager position to join their team in the Liverpool Area.
Role
1. Ensure that all staff operate safely and to high personal and professional standards.
* Manage the Engineering Team (8 Engineers) to improve day to day operations within the department.
* Attend the daily performance review representing the Engineering Department prioritising any actions from the review.
* Manage KPI’s and the success of maintenance.
* Liaise with the stores controller and costs to maintain a healthy level of stock and engineering budget.
* Conduct PDR’s on an annual basis with all Engineers, on top of all regular mentoring and development.
* Identify training requirements for the Engineering team, to develop engineering skills and knowledge.
* Manage both internal and external personnel, ensure contractor knowledge of relevant standards and check adherance to such standards.
* Assist in the delivery of all Projects and Continuous Improvements ensuring KPI’s are defined and met.
* Oversee planning and scheduling activities for projects and continuous improvements.
* Oversee the delivery of smaller projects, including the development of larger projects.
* Understand relevant legislation including but not limited to the CDM regulations.
* Working hands on 60% of the time, completing multi-skilled maintenance and leading electrical breakdowns where required
* Ensuring completions of Risk Assessments, Permits to Work, RAMS and further Engineering documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
2. Experience using Elecosoft Shire PPM system is essential.
* Experience in projects from design to commissioning.
* Knowledge of engineering standards, legal, quality & SHE requirements
* Experience in project financial management.
* Educated to degree level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering & hold a professional qualification.
* Experience of management systems, ISO 9001 is desirable.
* LEAN knowledge / qualification desirable.
* Vast experience within manufacturing environments.
