Purpose
We are looking for a highly skilled engineer who is comfortable with both front-end and back-end development. Full Stack Software Engineers are responsible for developing front-end web applications, ensuring the responsiveness of these applications, and building highly scalable back-end services, utilising modern PWA and microservice technologies.
Full Stack Software Engineers will be required to assist with the design, build, testing, and deployment of all new software feature enhancements and fixes. Offering a great opportunity to get exposure to all stages of the SDLC. The role requires a self-motivated, pro-active, driven individual with good organisational skills and an attention to detail.
Due to the size of the team, this role will suit a self-starter who doesn’t mind at times working on their own to meet challenging deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Must have the full right to work in the UK
* Developing front ends using SPA, Static Site, or PWA technologies.
* Designing user interactions on web pages with a natural passion for user experience.
* Developing backend microservices.
* Creating database tables for backend functionality.
* Ensuring the responsiveness of applications.
* Seeing through a new feature or bug from inception to release.
* Designing and developing APIs using Schema and API design first principles.
* Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
* Staying abreast of developments in Software Engineering and programming languages.
* Innovate, develop, maintain, and contribute to the new version of the platform.
* Identify, troubleshoot, and fix any bugs.
* The occasional on-call support for event-based clients.
Skills & Experience
* Exposure to front-end testing frameworks would be ideal.
* Proficiency with server-side languages, ideally C#.
* Familiarity with event-driven message-based architectures.
* Proficiency with unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, Moq, and Fluent Assertions.
* Familiarity with SQL based databases, such as PostgreSQL or MSSQL.
* Aware of clean coding practices such as SOLID and DRY.
* Experience with source control management and deployment pipeline systems such as GitHub.
* Ideally has experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
* Ideally has experience with cloud technologies such as AWS.
* Good problem-solving skills.
* Lean agile concepts and development e.g. Scrum, Kanban, TDD, BDD, DevOps.
* Aware of OpenAPI language and concepts.
* Ability to interact with colleagues from all disciplines.
