Business Development Manager

This is a new high-profile position and we are looking for a highly experienced New Business Manager to ensure they obtain new business at a complex level, having clear knowledge of National Accounts would be of benefit to the successful candidate.
The perfect candidate will be hungry and driven with a proven track record of delivering new business and increased sales in the food manufacturing sector to ensure profitable commercial business is won while maintaining a strong strategic plan focusing on high-potential customers within Education and the Public Sector.
This is a target and deadline driven position which sometimes requires a flexible approach to working hours.
This is a field-based position
To be successful you must have:
1. Prior experience in new business development or national accounts position with successful achievements in winning in multiple sectors and managing a tender with sector
2. Understanding the Bidding process
3. Experience within catering / food service is essential
4. Portfolio of successful clients
5. Knowledge of the Education and public sector
6. Be able to successfully work on own initiative
7. Analytical skills with the ability to dissect tender documents
8. Knowledge in commercial insight and key profit levers
9. Commercial thinking
10. Excellent communication and Relationship building skills
11. Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
12. Work towards tight deadlines
13. Being familiar with the local area and the social and economic factors affecting
14. You will be flexible and able to travel as required
Responsibilities of the role:
15. Ensure Commercial new business is won, via active prospecting and by managing a pipeline of prospect opportunities.
16. Able to identify bids, tenders and other profitable opportunities
17. To build relationships with prospect clients on your pipeline so that they see JJ Food Service as their next supplier
18. Use successful techniques for winning a bid, which include communicating the unique selling points of JJ Food Service Ltd, being aware of the company’s operating and profit margins and of course understanding the clients’ specific requirements
19. Must understand the complexity of the food supply chain and just-in-time models and be able to work at pace
20. Achieve sales and margin targets in line with the National Account New Business budget
