Position: Learning Mentor
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a school’s pastoral team, providing crucial support to students and fostering their personal and academic growth.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the pastoral team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
2. Design and lead targeted interventions for individuals and small groups to promote a positive learning environment.
3. Build strong communication links with teaching staff, parents/carers, and support teams to deliver a cohesive approach to student development.
4. Supervise students in the Focus Area, providing guidance, ensuring task completion, and collecting assignments as needed.
5. Keep detailed daily records and manage associated administrative duties efficiently.
6. Create and implement tailored action plans for students identified for additional support, meeting with them individually or in small groups on a set schedule.
7. Work alongside the pastoral team to develop and apply effective strategies and interventions for students.
Requirements:
1. Eligibility to work in the UK.
2. Recent experience (within the last three years) working with SEND children in a professional capacity.
3. Up-to-date, professional childcare-related references covering the last two years.
4. An enhanced DBS disclosure registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
