Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

The Learning Support Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs within the education setting. The main duties include:
Job Duties:
* Assisting students on a 1-1 basis with their learning activities under the guidance of the teaching staff
* Providing one-to-one support to students who require additional help
* Helping to create and maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment
* Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
* Supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties
* Assisting with the monitoring of student progress and reporting back to teaching staff
* Attending Training days and sessions set up by school
Required Qualifications:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Relevant experience working with individuals with additional learning needs
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
* Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
* Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities
* Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
* Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the individual needs of students
Preferred Qualifications:
* First Aid training
* Mental Health Awareness training
Driving is desirable; however, the school does sit on a bus route.
