The successful candidate will be an energetic and inspirational teacher who will have the ambition to develop the teaching of A-level History of Art at Queen’s. We would be very pleased to hear from candidates who would, in addition to History of Art teaching, be interested in leading on our EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) and PQ (Project Qualification). These are an important part of student provision to facilitate development of research skills across the College. History of Art is a popular and long-standing A-level subject at Queen’s taught by a department comprising two teachers. Delivery of the course builds strongly on our location, a few minutes’ walk from the Wallace Collection and close to all the main galleries of central London, trips to which are organised regularly. There is also a popular residential trip to Italy, which has become a well-established part of our co-curricular programme. Results at A-level are consistently strong, and a number of Sixth Form students choose to continue with the subject at degree level. Queen’s College, London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; applicants must be willing to undergo the requisite pre-employment procedures, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. During the shortlisting process, Queen’s College, London will consider carrying out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence. Queen’s College, London recognises the positive value of diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
