Senior FPGA Design Engineer

This is an exciting and new opportunity for an experienced FPGA design engineer to join a start-up involved with the research, development, and design of optics/photonic technologies. Their technologies radically improve network speed and energy efficiency.
This FPGA design role requires:
* Excellent VHDL and RTL experience coupled with the use of tools such as Quartus and QuestaSim. Able to define microarchitectures.
* Extensive hands-on industry experience of FPGA design for network applications at 100Gbps and above.
* Experience with embedded systems, including soft processors (Nios/Microblaze/RISC V) and SoC programming.
* Experience with high-performance FPGA devices: Cyclone V, Intel Agilex 7, or Xilinx Versal Premium.
* Experience using PCIe, CXL, RDMA, DDR4, bare metal use of high-speed transceivers, Ethernet, IP.
Additional skills and experience required:
* Excellent communication, organisation, and motivational skills.
* The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving start-up organisation.
* Knowledge of high-speed network interface and optical transceiver systems would be preferable.
* A degree or masters in a relevant subject area (e.g., electronics engineering).
The FPGA design engineer role is based on-site in Paignton, Devon 5 days per week. Relocation assistance and working visas may be possible for the right candidate.
