Job Description: Commercial Manager to support a large UK Nuclear Sector Client, leading commercial aspects, providing leadership, contract management, bid support, and risk management responsibilities.
* Lead commercial aspects of Consultancy & Civil Nuclear Business Units.
* Provide commercial leadership, primarily focusing on Consultancy and Civil Nuclear.
* Motivate and engage stakeholders, including team members, clients, directors, and support functions.
* Facilitate progress and delivery meetings to drive performance.
* Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies with stakeholder agreement.
* Provide NEC contract support and guidance to Project Managers and other stakeholders.
* Review, negotiate, and draft NEC and other contract agreements.
* Monitor and audit project health, including CEMAR compliance.
* Act as Framework Manager as needed and support other Framework Managers.
* Support review and signing of upstream contracts, ensuring completion of tender and contract reviews.
* Support subcontract strategy development and liaise with Project Buyers/Procurement teams.
* Prepare and negotiate sub-contract documentation, incorporating risk management clauses and suitable payment options.
* Analyse tender costs, audit fees, and manage subcontract governance.
* Review tender contracts, draft non-disclosure agreements, and provide commercial input for bid responses.
* Support production of tender risk registers and assess potential issues.
* Relevant university degree or professional accreditation from a recognized body.
* Membership of an appropriate technical/professional body.
* GCSE (grade C or above) in Maths and English or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of NEC Contracts.
* Experience in commercial/contract roles with a focus on confidentiality and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with project management principles.
* Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent.
* Experience in NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract writing.
* Capable of planning, estimating, and writing for bids.
