Job Summary Complete the building/wiring of a project to meet industry and Accraply standards formt he start of assembly through to finalization. Support and assist the Manufacturing Leader with the day to day requirements within the manufacturing team. Works with the Engineering team to assist in solving build/wiring or performance problems and verify that the machine build/wire meets all customer requirements. The end goal in this position is to reach a level of experience and knowledge to perform customer demonstrations and final acceptance testing. Will engage in the business by actively participating in company events, training, education and Lean Manufacturing. Will strive to live Accraply’s ‘people centric’ culture and will ‘lead by example’. Responsibilities Plans, schedules, and coordinates the work load of team members and ensure they can meet the time requirements by assisting with any problems they may face during the build. Assist the Manufacturing Leader with the effective utilization of people working within various production environments. Ensures that shop floor consumables are fully stocked and works with the Supply Chain team when supplies are required. Complete despatch checks and paperwork. Oversee the packing and loading of machines including the production of delivery documentation. Allocate job shelving for new machine orders and ensure the machine details are visible, once the build is complete ensure all items are cleared and any remaining items are returned to stock. Delegate any unplanned work (i.e. rework and aftermarket) to the appropriate team member. Mentor, coach and oversee the work of the apprentices within the manufacturing team. With the Manufacturing Leader plan the layout of the shop floor in order to facilitate a safe and efficient working environment. Liaise with the Manufacturing Leader and/or relevant team with regards to any problems with the machine build in order to obtain a satisfactory result and avoid any unneeded delays in the machine build. Maintain staff attendance and report to Manufacturing Leader and CPD Leader. Accurately and systematically troubleshoot machine and determine the cause of the problem and present or implement workable solutions. Effectively document any changes to the machine build/wire. Work the time necessary to meet the needs of the business and advise direct Leader if any overtime is required. Ensures that all operations carried out by the Manufacturing Team, and visitors to the manufacturing area, are conducted in a safe manner. Provide cover for the Manufacturing Leader in their absence. Actively supports the activities of the Health and Safety Committee and reports any issues accordingly. Assist the Manufacturing Leader with actively supporting L3 (Lean) activities that that enhance the Operational Excellence goals of the company. Provide support to the Manufacturing Leader and complete any other duties as requested by the Manufacturing Leader. Keep shop floor area and individual work area clean, neat and organized to allow efficient production and encourage team members to do the same. Maintain a ‘tour ready’ appearance in production area. Requirements Qualified preferable to ONC/HNC level in with an electrical or mechanical engineering subject Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship is desired Experience in a Manufacturing environment. Experience preferably in the use if overhead cranes and slinging of machinery. Experience in the operation of machine tools, namely milling machines and lathers would be preferred. Experience preferably in the packaging industry with emphasis on new machine build. Demonstrated success in influencing and leading, building and maintaining relationships, problem solving and decision making, and personal organisation and time management. Ability to develop and assist in the leading of a team that range in experience Knowledge of safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to read and understand prints and build specifications. Ability to trouble shoot and provide workable mechanical solutions Effective communication skills in both written and oral forms. PC literate with experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and internal systems. Ability to occasionally travel to other Accraply/Barry-Wehmiller domestic and international locations, as well as customer locations. Conducts oneself in a professional and customer-centric fashion.
