PROJECT MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION / ENGINEERING)
Our client is an established, award winning and world leading engineered solutions business, with strong and sustained investment in people, capital and plant. They design and manufacture bespoke products and solutions extensively within Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, and other hazardous Industrial environments, for some of the largest companies in the UK and internationally. Our client is seeking to appoint either an experienced Project Manager, or a highly competent and experienced Project Engineer or candidate from a comparative role / suitable background seeking a PM opportunity). The will be a Contract / Interim / temporary of 12 to 18 months in duration role is based in the Washington office and encompasses the EMEA region). The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle project completion for clients and will, perform all Project Management tasks required to control, report and complete the project successfully.
NB: This is primarily an onsite/office-based role, however, a degree of flexibility may be offered around core hours by agreement/discussion). There may be potential for limited remote working within agreed parameters.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Accountable for full-cycle project management related to project specifications and contractual obligations
* Reviewing project specifications and documentation necessary to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work, client expectations, budget, deliverables, schedules and goals.
* Identifying project team, delegating tasks and managing project to ensure the project execution plan is followed through, on-time completion
* Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
* Communicating project scope, schedule, and all other information to the engineering design team along with internal and external customers
* Identifying, managing and controlling change in the project
* Maintaining budget and schedule and providing status/update reports to Engineering Director and Lead Designer
* communicating with and understanding the Construction Manager’s role, progress, cost and scope of work, issues and concerns, and incorporating this in the project execution plan (if applicable)
* Project invoicing and closeout
* Maintaining Project Controls documentation
* Provides input in the development of Global and Regional procedures as required
* Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
* Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
* Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
* Visiting Key Stakeholders when necessary with a need for occasional travel and overnight stays
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
ESSENTIAL
* Demonstrable Project Management experience (or similar) gained within a related engineering/manufacturing environment or EPC / Turnkey contract experience
* Ability to understand the material and services, including design process and how different choices during design affect the project bottom line
* Good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (including strong knowledge of excel)
PREFERRED NOT ESSENTIAL
* BSc, BEng, or similar in electrical or mechanical engineering
* A recognised Project Management qualification
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
* Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
* Knowledge of piping and insulation systems and components
* Knowledge of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
* Strong technical, mathematical, and analytical background
Details of Package:
£40,000 to £50,000 Pro Rata PA Depending on experience + OT + Excellent Benefits, including Healthcare, and 27 Days + Banks, with some Hybrid working (typically one day from home each week) / 38 hour week / 8.30am to 5pm (3.45pm finish on Friday)
