TLC Resourcing are working exclusively with a well known family run company near Downham who are a leading supplier of fresh produce to the catering trade across East Anglia
We are seeking a commercially focused and hands-on Accountant/Finance Analyst to support financial operations and provide insightful analysis to help steer business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Processing weekly and monthly payroll in-house for all employees
· Ensuring compliance with HMRC and pension auto-enrolment requirements
· Recording and processing employee timesheets, absences and holiday pay
· Inputting and reconciling purchase and sales invoices – this would only be needed as holiday cover
· Bank reconciliations and petty cash management – this would only be needed as holiday cover.
· Supporting with VAT returns and ad hoc bookkeeping tasks
· Liaising with staff and management on payroll and expense queries
· Maintaining accurate records in Sage or equivalent accounting system
· Producing weekly KPIs
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and variance analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with departmental managers
• Weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting and monitoring
• Overseeing accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
• Stock control accounting and cost of sales analysis
• Supporting year-end accounts and liaison with external auditors
• Providing analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership
• Process improvement and support on systems development (e.g. Sage or equivalent)
Person Specification:
• Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or qualified by experience
• Experience working in an SME or commercial environment
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
• Proactive mindset and confident communicator with non-finance colleagues
• Ability to work on-site and contribute to a team-focused culture
