Carmarthenshire County Council is transforming our services for children and young people. This includes a major investment in new children's homes. Our goal is to support and nurture children to stay in their communities and thrive.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the manager in one of our new homes. We are looking for an inspiring person who can work collaboratively and guide and motivate a therapeutic, trauma-informed and attachment-based home that has just been developed for children aged 11-17.
You will be responsible for overseeing the provision of a therapeutic model of care, ensuring that the home is supported by experienced and highly skilled staff who listen to children, caring about them as well as caring for them.
We offer excellent induction opportunities and ongoing training, including supporting you to gain further qualifications. You will be part of an established residential service and a department that offers regular supervision and opportunities for further development.
Our ethos is to provide nurturing, encouragement, care and support to children that promotes opportunities for them to build healthy and positive relationships. As a leader in this service, you will have a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of the children we support.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
You will need a basic knowledge of Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
