JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join us on a permanent basis. This role is site based in Aberdeen with no remote working.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Inspecting product/material and associated documentation to confirm compliance to Wood, Client or industry specifications/codes and relevant purchase order requirements.
Coordination of competent and authorised inspection personnel ensuring inspection activities are completed in accordance to approved inspection requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Validate Inspection requirement and carry out inspection activities at the fabrication facility or as instructed by the facility Quality Lead.
2. Inspection of materials and review of material certification prior to fabrication/manufacture.
3. Select weld procedures for work scopes for approval by the welding engineer.
4. Witness / review of testing activities in compliance with Inspection and test plan requirements.
5. Verification that appropriate approvals are in place prior to commencement of specific works (e.g. weld procedures are approved, welder certification, etc.).
6. Review and endorsement of quality records raised as an output from fabrication/manufacturing processes.
7. Generation of NDT requests from AESSOP System.
8. Generation of inspection and progress reports as required.
9. Attend factory acceptance tests.
10. Final inspection release and issue of inspection release notes.
11. Report any inspection deficiencies and queries to the facility quality advisor.
12. Assist with incident investigations and ensuring that any relevant corrective/improvement actions are implemented.
13. Participate (as necessary) in audits, HSE and Quality Toolbox meetings as requested.
14. Site based Role - No remote working.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
1. Technically Qualified/Time served trades person.
2. Welding Inspection certificate from a recognised industry or national body i.e. CSWIP (essential).
3. Radiographic interpretation certificate (desirable).
Knowledge, skills and experience:
1. Relevant Inspection experience (Preferably in the associated industry).
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
3. High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
