Job description
This project is fixed term, funded for 20 months on a full-time basis through DEFRA’s Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund. Applicants wishing to work on a part-time basis will be considered.
About you
We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and team player with relevant experience in planning and enabling initiatives focused on beneficial outcomes for trees and the environment.
The candidate must have a proven track record of preparing successful funding applications, experience of project management, and demonstrable ability to deliver for the environment. Experience in woodland creation and its effects on the landscape is desirable.
In addition, you will bring:
* Ability to engage and involve a diverse range of partners and stakeholders with excellent communication skills
* A passion to make a difference for our world through tree-planting and woodland creation
* Strong leadership skills
* Good organisational skills – able to set up delivery and reporting systems
* Collaborative working style to ensure a joined-up approach to tree planting across Devon
* Experience of working in partnership
* Knowledge of external funding opportunities
* Sound understanding of the drivers behind tree canopy cover expansion initiatives in the Devon context.
The post is based at County Hall, Exeter, and offers flexibility of home working. It will involve travel across Devon, potentially to remote areas, and a full clean driving license is needed.
