FTE, Fixed term (circa 13 months depending on start date)
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Health and Safety Team at Loughborough University for a Deputy Fire Safety Officer (Maternity Cover).
Sitting within the University Health and Safety Service this role has the benefit of being surrounded by high performing and supportive colleagues, whilst the senior leadership support means that this role presents a real opportunity to influence the way we work.
We welcome applications from both persons experienced in fire safety, and those with interest or looking to build a career in this field. The University recognises that this is a specialist area and so full training will be provided for the successful applicant which will allow them to develop into this interesting and really important area.
We would be interested to hear from candidates with an interest in fire safety, with a willingness to develop. Key skills for this position include:
1. IT literacy and familiarity with MS Office.
2. Strong literacy and numeracy skills
3. The ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy.
4. Initiative and motivation to work independently and in small groups, with the ability to prioritise your workload
5. Experience in fire prevention and of undertaking fire risk assessment would be an advantage, as would previous training experience.
The successful candidate will eventually be confident in conducting fire risk assessments and advising on fire safety standards.
