The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to carry out the preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and perform the maintenance duties as specified by the plans, where applicable, for all company owned equipment in a timely manner. They will be responsible for the upkeep and condition of the facility as a whole, performing general maintenance tasks throughout the site. They will also be responsible for the upkeep of inventory, stock records, and the annual Preventive Maintenance Plan. Creating detailed reports of reactive and preventative maintenance tasks within the Maintenance Database. This will include; details of hours worked on the task in the area, the inventory consumed, and a detailed description of the problem and task undertaken to repair the machines. The role will involve liaising with different departments, suppliers to identify improvements and alternatives to resolve problems/issues seen on machines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide full maintenance support for the company(s) manufacturing equipment ensuring that all equipment is maintained and repaired to a good working condition/standard to aid in reducing unnecessary downtime.
2. Monitor and maintain the Preventative Maintenance database and ensure that preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner aiming to be within the original specified schedule.
3. Maintain and monitor the spares inventory as required to ensure continued running of company equipment. (Machine equipment / fasteners / etc)
4. Perform minor building maintenance tasks to keep the facility(s) in good condition.
5. Coordinate with subcontractors as and when required to perform major/minor building and/or machine repairs when additional skills and/or resources are needed.
6. Complete Planned Maintenance on machines, stripping down machines and replacing the parts found to be worn or damaged in accordance to the plan.
7. Maintain the upkeep of records of daily maintenance (Total Production Maintenance) being performed by departmental operators/setters in all departments (Train if required), Primaries and Secondaries.
8. Liaise with departmental operators/setters to aid in prioritizing maintenance in accordance to production schedule and urgencies (MRF’s)
9. Any other duties as may be reasonably requested.
10. Maintain a good level of housekeeping within the Maintenance area.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experiences:
1. 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing / Multi-skilled maintenance role.
2. 18th Edition Electrical qualification.
3. Knowledge and experience of use of CAD and/or other drawing systems.
4. Understanding and experience of PLC programming/troubleshooting.
5. NVQ Level 3 within an Engineering/Maintenance subject.
6. Have a good understanding of troubleshooting/fault finding methods.
7. Proficiency in use of various Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
8. Effective communication skills to multiple levels within the local/global organization.
