Salary:From£39,000 – depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting Principal Engineers with the setting ofsub-system requirements to meet whole boat naval shockrequirements
Supporting management ofverification, validation (V&V) and qualification evidence toensure sub-systems meet shockrequirements Developing designjustificationdocumentation Supporting and undertakingassessments of structures and equipment subjected to naval shockload cases Providing design guidance atdesign reviews with respect to naval shock loadcases Undertaking peer reviewchecking activities
* Supporting physical shocktest activities
Yourskills and experiences:
* Mechanical Engineering Degree (or STEMdegree)
Knowledge of undertaking structural design calculations(i.e. bolted joints / bending moment / shearstress) Understanding of material strength properties and limits(elastic and plasticproperties)

You will be joining an enthusiastic team of 10 membersand have an opportunity to liaise with a wide range of stakeholdersacross multiple disciplines. The position will give you a greatsatisfaction of being a part of the team, playing a significantrole in every element of submarinedesign.
As aSenior Engineer within the Shock and Dynamics department, you willsupport Principal Engineers with ensuring structures and equipmentare verified against naval shock requirements. You will supportrequirements for sub systems to ensure overall boat requirementsare met. You will also support sub-system maturity in relation tonaval shock and will provide design guidance to both internal andexternal stakeholders at designreviews.
