About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Social Worker to join our Integrated Mental Health Service at Wokingham Borough Council. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with individuals with severe mental illness, providing a social care perspective and promoting wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advice and signposting to VCS organisations
* Carry out Care Act assessments and S117 MHA assessments
* Compile support plans and work with the operational commissioning team to commission care to meet eligible needs
* Undertake adult safeguarding enquiries and carry out mental capacity assessments
Requirements
* Essential: qualified social worker, registered with SW England and has completed ASYE with sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014
* Essential: good understanding of adult Safeguarding, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and Human Rights legislation
* Essential: Full driving license and own transport
* Desirable: qualified as a BIA or AMHP
* Desirable: Experience in working with adults with severe mental illness
