Are you a Service Engineer, or an aspiring Service Engineer, looking to take the next step in your career by joining a successful and rapidly growing global company? Are you passionate about Ecological Transformation and being a part of making a change to the planet?
If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading water technologies company, where you will play a pivotal role in giving our clients the best in class quality service. You will provide on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support. You will be expected to go on the 'On Call Rota' for weekend/out of hours work once fully trained.
Some responsibilities of a Service Engineer include:
1. Observe, abide by, and enforce the Company’s and client’s Health & Safety policies.
2. Present a professional image to customers whether by telephone, in writing, or in person.
3. Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers ensuring you are always punctual, helpful, and courteous.
4. Maintain a flexible approach to customer's needs and working hours.
5. Timely reporting to the Service Manager on progress or delays.
6. Timely completion and submission of risk assessments, work reports, activity reports, and all other documentation.
7. Timely completion of site tasks and activities as required.
8. Look for recommendations and opportunities to improve the client's system and provide quotations for parts, consumables, plant upgrades, and refurbishment work.
9. Liaise with the appropriate sales team on any potential leads.
10. Provide regular updates to your line manager on any issues that may impact the Company.
11. Carry out commissioning work on standard equipment.
General requirements for the role:
1. Ideal but not essential - NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar.
2. GCSE or equivalent – English and Maths.
3. A full UK driving licence is required.
4. Experience with the water industry is advantageous but not essential.
5. Knowledge of the Healthcare and Scientific market is desirable.
6. Experience as a Service Engineer or in a Technical Support role is advantageous but not essential.
7. Passionate about providing a first-class service to our customers.
8. Able to handle challenging conversations with customers and find resolutions.
9. Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
10. Demonstrable experience of having built strong working relationships.
11. A professional approach to your work and communication.
12. A good level of IT competency.
13. Good organisational skills with an eye for detail.
14. Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
