Finance Business Partner Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join our team based at our newly created European MRO site in Tewkesbury. Founded around 50 years ago, Ontic was spun out of BBA into the ownership of CVC in 2019 since when it has thrived as a stand-alone business. Ontic has a unique business model – we licence complex components that other companies no longer wish to make and guarantee their supply through the long remaining life of the aircraft fleets we serve. We operate across many, even most, military and civil platforms with over 6,000 different parts. The Role: Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance and supporting the Rest of World (ROW) MRO business, the purpose of this role is to support our operational colleagues by providing first class financial information that allows them to drive business performance. This insightful information will be underpinned by robust processes and accurate data. The role visibly creates value and gives the right candidate excellent exposure to how businesses work and how strong process and good information can make a real difference. Key accountabilities of the position. Build a strong two-way relationship with the Supply Chain, Operations and Planning functions to take joint ownership with the business for the delivery of financial targets. Preparation of Inventory and Indirect cost projections to support the Forecasting and Budget cycles. Carrying out month end responsibilities ensuring accuracy and integrity of the financial data. Variance Analysis between Actuals, Prior Year, Budget and Forecast including root cause analysis and providing recommendations for corrective action. Play an influential role in relevant management teams and steering group meetings supporting the delivery of initiatives and strategic alignment. Guide and support the site leadership team by constructively challenging to test decisions and gain an intimate knowledge of the business. Contribution to monthly business reporting e.g. Finance Pack and driving resulting actions and key messages through the business for relevant areas. Maintain an effective control environment - Identify areas of potential control weakness, suggest, and implement solutions to minimize risk. Carry out ad hoc analysis and projects as required. Assist the Head of Operational Finance in driving process improvements Knowledge, Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate will be at least a part-qualified accountant with manufacturing experience and proven experience in a similar role, preferably experience dealing with inventory. They will be seeking to learn and to develop their career within a dynamic and entrepreneurial business. They will be independently minded with high levels of personal integrity, clear thinking with a structured process driven approach able to work both within a team and independently. A self-starter who is prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and can plan/ prioritise workload, supporting and working within a tight knit finance team.
