Overview of Role
This role will involve working across several key global clients within our group. Depending on the client, the role will include areas such as:
1. Trading Delivery: Working with local market trading teams to track media value delivery according to the agreed methodology. Clear understanding of the trading commitments and measurement methodology. Consolidating media value delivery across media channels, markets and regions and leading in developing solution focused approaches where needed. Active role in discussions with auditors and resolving issues.
2. Analysis: Confident at handling large data sets, quality assurance in data, spotting anomalies and asking questions to ensure accuracy and robustness of data.
3. Media Knowledge: Focus on global media knowledge of markets, channels, measurement metrics, methodologies and trading metrics to build knowledge and experience. Sharing knowledge and supporting junior members of the team in their learning. A proactive and engaging approach to learning is essential.
4. Market Intelligence: Develop market intelligence in areas such as media price inflation, media channel evolution and media landscape changes, keeping team and clients aware of such changes and any potential impact.
5. People and Project Management: Ability to manage and develop more junior team members, supporting them with completing deliverables in a timely manner, ensuring high quality output of work, developing knowledge and skill set. An ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, which will include ability to prioritise, adapt at short notice and have a solutions focused approach.
6. Relationship Focus: This role will involve working with many global markets. As such, an ability to develop collaborative relationships with local teams, as well as own internal team, clients and 3rd party auditors where relevant is important. Demonstrating a thoughtful, considered, and fair approach in discussions around how to resolve issues.
Key Competencies:
The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a media buying/trading role, within a media auditor, a client business and/or within an investment management agency team. The role will involve working with big data sets, therefore skills in maths, excel and attention to detail are essential. An interest in analysing data, understanding the trends and story it shows are also important. We are particularly interested in any advanced analytics and data visualisation skills including experience of platforms such as Alteryx, Tableau and Power BI, as well as any VBA/macro writing skills.
Equally important is an ability to develop and nurture relationships with a wide range of colleagues, both within internal global teams and where relevant, external parties. Strong organisation, communication skills and problem-solving skills would be beneficial, as well as a proactive and friendly approach. The role is within the global team, which requires talking to markets around the world where English may not be the first language. Therefore strong written and spoken English language skills are essential for this role.
Performance Measures: The success of the role will be measured against agreed KPI’s which will be discussed periodically throughout the year. Additionally, strong local market relationships are critical to the success of this role.
